Samsung Galaxy S II Plus benchmarks surface, may tide users over until Galaxy S III launch

While Samsung won’t be unveiling its highly anticipated Galaxy S III at the Mobile World Congress trade show next month in Barcelona, Spain, it should have a number of other devices on hand. BGR exclusively reported in December that Samsung will unveil a new HD tablet at the show next month, and now the “Galaxy S II Plus” smartphone has surfaced once again. First reported last summer, the Galaxy S II Plus is seen as an incremental update to the popular Galaxy S II with a modest spec bump. According to benchmark test results discovered by Techsnapr.com, the Galaxy S II Plus features an upgraded 1.5GHz processor, Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and a WVGA display. Other details surrounding the device remain a mystery but with MWC less than a month away, we’ll likely learn plenty more about this smartphone in the weeks ahead.
