“Facebook for Android 1.9.7 requires Android 2.2 and up”
is the first line of the change log for the new client which was just
released. While we feel sorry for those still running Eclair, we kind of
understand that it’s a four generation old platform. Aside from the
usual performance improvements and bug fixes, the new Facebook app also
brings some interesting new features.
In the Messaging compartment, you can now switch between
conversations, include friends of friends, share bigger photos, and see
who’s available. There’s also a security improvement which is always a
great addition and the applications feels snappier overall. Consult your
Google Play application to grab the update if it didn’t auto refresh on
 its own!
