ZTE N880E, company’s first Jelly Bean handset lands in China

ZTE is the fourth largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world, I am sure that people in States are not familiar with that because ZTE is actually more powerful in China and other Asian markets, although they are slowly moving towards the Europe and US markets. If you were expecting that top brands like Samsung, HTC or Motorola will come out with the first ever non-Nexus Jelly Bean handset, then let me correct you. Today, ZTE officially launched their first ever Jelly Bean device which is known as ZTE N880E in China, and it boots Android 4.1 right out of the box.
“ZTE has an excellent relationship with Google and this, combined with our extensive R&D capabilities and our experience of customising devices for partners around the world, means we are able to bring new technologies to market very quickly,” said Mr. Kan Yulun,Vice President and CTO of the Handset Division, ZTE.“Our aim is to provide the best quality customer experience for the best value, and the N880E is a great example of this.”
Well, that explains a lot, but the phone is actually not good enough to compete with today popular smartphones. It's running on a 1GHz single-core Qualcomm CPU, 512MB of RAM, 4" WVGA display, 3.2MP camera, 4GB of expandable memory, and 1650mAh battery. Though ZTE can launch it as a mid-range device in other mobile markets.
